  That struck me, even then, as the core of what true counseling is all about: to weed through and dissolve all   the blocks to our soul shining brightly; to live true and awake in your own “internal guidance system,” in       your own soul!

  So that is what I have tried to create as a counselor, coach and teacher--to help each person who comes to Accept live more fully in their own soul, live more alive in love in their relationships, and find healing and      well-being in the work they do with me--psyche therapeutis.

  What I want you to know about this process is...it is the ongoing work of a lifetime!  Attaining true well-being  in your soul is not something you arrive at and conquer, and there you are!  This is the ancient wisdom about enlightenment: enlightenment is hard to attain, even harder to stay there!  Being awake in your soul is how     you choose to live.  Then it must become a way of life.

  So I continue to work on myself.  I continue to practice staying awake and clear.  And I continue to face the challenges to well-being that come up in my life on a regular basis.  In personal growth, there is no resting on your laurels. There is only the commitment and practice to be authentically yourself in a way that enhances life.

  It’s like my favorite Teddy Roosevelt quote.  “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.  The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

  If we keep our attention focused in being loving, authentic and awake we can remember to be present in       the arena of life with all those around us, while practicing going inside ourselves and keeping the mirror of our soul clean--to reflect back to everyone in our life the love we so carefully aim to cultivate for ourselves.

  So be proud of your heritage as an everyday man or woman, while taking even greater pride in the uniqueness of your own soul.  Do not disparage yourself if you come up short, but wear the wisdom of maturity standing tall as you learn.  And if you need help along the way, I would be honored to assist.
